Account privacy

Vhangeri stores your name, email address, a protected password hash, a protected recovery-code hash, quiz attempts and game completion records in its PostgreSQL database. Your password and recovery code are never stored as readable text.

Your email is used to sign in. Email verification and password-reset emails are not currently available. Keep the recovery code provided at signup somewhere private; it lets you set a new password if needed.

A necessary, secure session cookie keeps you signed in for up to seven days. Signing out ends that session. Your account details and individual results are not displayed publicly. Games can also be played without signing in; guest game results are not saved to an account.

Quiz answers and times are checked on the server. Word-game completions are casual practice records reported by your browser, not a competitive leaderboard.

To ask about account access or data removal, contact Vhangeri through the social channels linked on the homepage. Do not send your password or recovery code in a message.

Social sign-in

When available, Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Apple can identify your account using a provider-specific identifier. We store that identifier, your display name and a verified email when supplied. Provider access tokens are used during sign-in and are not saved. Existing accounts must be explicitly connected while signed in. Social accounts without a password use their provider for account recovery.
